One thing that everyone has in common during Covid-19 is that we are spending more time inside.
This change in behaviour has also modified other habits, such as diet, exercise, and how we take care of ourselves.
As people wash their hands more, they should be using a non-drying, natural soap. To complete the activity, apply a hand cream after drying the hands. Using hand sanitizers can also dry hands, yet it is a necessity in today’s world, people will have to shop around and find a sanitizing gel that will not dry or chap hands.
Our diets are changing. With working from home or staggering shift to avoid peak travel times, many have had a change in circadian rhythms. Even if meal and snack times have changed, it is important to get enough fresh produce and fibre every day.
The more time we spend inside with indoor climate control, the greater the impact it will have on our skin.
It is well known that the sun can cause damage, many feel wind burn, and humidity levels affect the hair and the skin. The indoor climate can play as big a part on skincare as the outdoor climate; central Air, radiators, and fireplaces to name a few. Just as we combat sun damage with SPF, we need to prevent skin deterioration from home elements. A dry indoor setting requires more moisture, and depending on your pre-Covid skin type, this may mean the addition of a facial oil to the daily routine or it may mean using a facial oil two-to-three times a day.
Loofah daily and exfoliate the entire body. Those who do exfoliate regularly often only use product on their face.
Not a lot of products are suitable for the face and body, two or perhaps more products may need to be used. Other brands are safe for the entire body, the amount used differs from part-to-part; faces tend to use less product than legs. This is important as acne can appear all over the body.
Without going to the gym, or not going as often, people will have to keep up their exercise regiment. Some things can be done at home or via online lessons, I recently purchased a jumping rope and find it is a great way to get 20 minutes of cardio per day.
Mask-acne or Mascne. There is no way to avoid it, the best advice is to wear little to no make-up if you know you will be wearing a mask. Wash the face regularly, with a non-allergenic, gentle cleanser, use a toner, I like to spray some toner on my face after prolonged mask wear.
Maintaining our daily routines is good for our skin and mental well-being. Cleanse, Tone, Mositurise daily, use exfoliant twice a week and a mask weekly.
Stay Safe, Stay Well, and Be Smart. Wash your hands, wear a mask, socially distance, keep bubbles small.
