Inherent Skincare

About

There are thousands of different skincare products and just as many companies supplying them.

People choose their preferred skin care brands in lots of different ways; is the product natural, organic, cruelty free?  Does it suit their skin conditions?
Their preference can depend on their own conditions such as skin type, acne, mature, or dry skin.  People also choose their products based on the company ethos such as philanthropic actions, charitable donations and environmental achievements. Price also can play a factor.

We do the research for you!

Many people do not realise the impact that beauty products and cosmetics have on the environment:

The Dirty Dozen

The Price of Cosmetics: The Environment

This site reviews skincare products based on environmental credentials, natural ingredients and also assesses the value for money.

A Star Rating Scale of 1 to 5 is awarded based on:

  • Value for Money – including usefulness of product, its shelf life, as well as packaging.
  • Company Ethos – is the company environmental, against animal testing, vegan, fair trade
  • Results – both short term (24 hours) and long term (after 6 months of use)
  • Quality of Ingredients – is it organic, natural, biodegradable, handmade

A corresponding overall score is offered out of 5, and is given before the description of each item.

Opinions and recommendations are mostly based on reviews from people in their 30s and 40s with a variety of skin tones and conditions.
